Welcome to the EWU Network and Security Wiki. The purpose of this wiki is to share information and allow for easier collaboration.  To contribute you need to be registered, please contact Carol Taylor, David McCombs or Gary Duncan.

General Information

Potential topics include general research, information, experiment results, and labs. Please place your topic in one or more of the categories listed below. On each page please list relevant EWU courses. For example, a page discussing wireless security would be more appropriate for the Network Security course than it would be for CSCD 330. Please make sure that all sources are cited. The writing quality and style should be at least equal to a class research paper or lab.

There are several ideas behind this wiki. What this Wiki is not intended to be is something that merely duplicates information elsewhere. What this Wiki is intended for is:

  • Summaries of network and security concepts.
  • A place to publish your class research papers
    • Future students can learn from and build on your work, rather then duplicate it.
  • A place to give a brief introduction and resources for a topic.
    • Well documented tools such as nmap will mainly be links, brief summaries and labs
    • Tools that aren't documented as well can be covered in more depth.
  • A collection of short tutorials and labs.

These entries do not have to be part of any course work. If you are interested in specializing in this topic, you will be doing a lot of independent research. Share your discoveries with others!
